Recognizing the need for a heavier weapon, Sturmgeschutz units initiated an order in 1941 to mount the leFH18 gun on the StuG chassis. The first production vehicle, featuring the larger 105mm rounds, was delivered in March 1943 and earned the designation StuH42 (Sturmhaubitze).

Building upon the success of Dragon’s earlier 1/72 scale StuG III kit, modellers can now enjoy the addition of the StuH42 variant to the lineup. Based on the StuG III Ausf. G model, this release inherits the exceptional features and top-notch components of its predecessor, featuring a newly tooled 10.5cm gun. Utilising slide moulds for parts like the one-piece lower hull, and incorporating photo-etched items and clear plastic where appropriate, this self-propelled gun enhances the firepower of StuG detachments. For modellers, the StuH42 provides an excellent opportunity to augment their collections of WWII German vehicles.

Product Details

Scale is 1:72

Newly tooled hull frontal armour

Brand new slide-moulded and converted 10.5cm leFH18 gun for StuG.III

One-piece gun can be elevated up and down

Two types of cooling air intakes provided with and without air-intake grills

Exhaust pipes with hollow ends

Slide-moulded periscope gun sight made from clear part

Road wheels and sprockets moulded in great detail

One-piece tracks for ease of assembly

Includes photo-etched parts and decal sheet

At a glance

Scale: 1:72

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Artillery

Nation: German

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: Dragon

Product code: D7284

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
