At first, the plan unfolded successfully, pushing France into a critical position. However, as the campaign progressed, the German army found itself without enough troops to complete the encirclement of Paris. German high command then altered their strategy, shortening their offensive route, abandoning the planned bypass of Paris, and redirecting forces eastward toward the Marne River.

France and Britain responded decisively by concentrating forces in this vulnerable sector, assembling an Allied force nearly twice the size of the advancing German armies. Their powerful counterattack forced the Germans to stretch their lines thin while attempting to manoeuvre along the front. As gaps appeared in the German formations, French and British units quickly exploited these weaknesses by advancing into the openings. This pressure ultimately forced the Germans to retreat, marking the complete collapse of the Schlieffen Plan, which had been designed for a rapid victory on the Western Front. This unexpected Allied triumph later became known as the 'Miracle on the Marne'.

Model Features

The set features German infantry with an MG08 machine gun crew, French infantry, and British infantry with a Vickers machine gun crew

All infantry figures are finely detailed and sculpted in dynamic combat poses

The set includes authentic German and British infantry weapons from World War I

Perfect for recreating battle scenes from the early phase of World War I (Autumn 1914)

Model Information

Scale: 1:35

Number of Parts: 756 pieces

Includes detailed assembly instructions

Highly detailed sprues with high accuracy made from quality plastic

Box size: 410 x 260 x 55 mm

At a glance

Scale: 1:35

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Figures

Era: 1914-1918 - World War I

Brand: ICM

Product code: ICMDS3530

Special Order - ETA 2-4 Weeks. We order this in for you from the UK distributor, so please allow 2 to 4 weeks for it to reach you.

https://www.loadeddice.uk/products/icm-1-35-miracle-on-the-marne-wwi-british-french-german-infantry-figure-set-icmds3530
