Having begun his military career during the First World War, he steadily advanced through the ranks of the British Army and entered WWII as commander of the 3rd Division of the British Expeditionary Force in France.

In the autumn of 1942, Montgomery took command of British forces in North Africa and soon achieved a decisive victory over the famous “Desert Fox” — German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. By December 1943, Montgomery was commanding the 21st Army Group and had become the Commander of Allied ground forces in Europe. Naturally, the success of Montgomery’s operations owed much to the officers and soldiers of his staff. Among the vehicles he used as a mobile command post was a specially modified army Leyland Retriever truck. Built on the standard chassis, it featured a purpose-built superstructure that served as a field office, divided into two rooms. The front, smaller room housed a sanitary compartment, while the larger rear room was fitted with cabinets for clothing and equipment, a writing desk with table lamps, and a large sofa. Montgomery used this mobile field office throughout the European campaign until the end of the war in spring 1945.

Key Features

Figures of Field Marshal Montgomery, his staff, and his mobile office based on a Leyland Retriever truck chassis

Detailed reproduction of British World War II uniforms

Highly detailed interior of Montgomery's mobile office, including desk, sofa, shelves, cabinets, and more

Includes decals featuring portraits of German commanders as seen on the walls of Montgomery's office

The set allows for a realistic diorama of Montgomery's headquarters operations during the final stages of World War II

Model Information

Scale: 1:35

Number of Parts: 467

Length: 202 mm

Height: 91 mm

Includes detailed assembly instructions

Highly detailed sprues with high accuracy made from quality plastic

Box size: 410 x 260 x 55 mm

At a glance

Scale: 1:35

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Utility Vehicles

Nation: British

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: ICM

Product code: ICM35604

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
