Nicknamed the ‘Killer Egg’, it was developed from the civilian MD 530F to provide close fire support for special operations units.

The helicopter features a compact airframe constructed from aluminium alloys. The pilots are seated at the front of the cabin, with the avionics compartment located beneath the forward cabin floor and fuel tanks positioned at the rear. The AH-6J was the first Little Bird variant to introduce fully standardised equipment across the entire fleet.

In terms of armament, the AH-6J could be equipped with M134 Miniguns or GAU-19 multi-barrel machine guns, as well as Hydra 70 or FFAR unguided rockets mounted on external hardpoints. It was also capable of carrying AGM-114 Hellfire or TOW guided missiles. Thanks to its small size, the helicopter is highly manoeuvrable and capable of operating in confined environments, including landing on rooftops and other restricted areas.

Key Features

Detailed model of the Little Bird attack helicopter

Highly accurate representation of the aircraft’s geometry, true to the original

Optional antenna configurations for different variants

Includes a range of armament options: two types of machine guns (M134 Minigun and GAU-19) and unguided rockets in 7- and 19-tube pods

Decal sheet with authentic markings for AH-6J helicopters of the 160th SOAR

Markings Available

AH-6J Little Bird 90-25362, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Somalia, autumn 1993

AH-6J Little Bird 90-25357, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), Somalia, autumn 1993

AH-6J Little Bird 89-25355, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), 1990s

AH-6J Little Bird 90-25361, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), 1990s

Model Information

Scale: 1:48

Number of Parts: 215

Length: 182 mm

Width: 166 mm

Includes detailed assembly instructions

Highly detailed sprues with high accuracy made from quality plastic

EAN: 4823044412136

Carton quantity: 20

Box size: 410 x 260 x 55 mm

At a glance

Scale: 1:48

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Helicopters

Nation: American

Era: 1990s

Brand: ICM

Product code: ICM48370

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
