By increasing the angle of attack by 3.5 degrees, the engines gained a slight upward tilt. This change shortened the takeoff run by about 90 metres, reduced takeoff speed, and decreased landing distance—though it slightly lowered the maximum flight speed. The B-26F also featured a new ventilation mast for fuel tank air access and a modified windscreen design. Production began at the Baltimore factory in late February 1944, with the first units reaching the US 9th Air Force in Great Britain by spring 1945. Additional bombers were allocated to the 12th Air Force in the Mediterranean theatre. The B-26F Marauder saw active combat service across Europe, with 300 units manufactured in total (serial numbers 42-96229 through 42-96528).

Key Features

The model represents the B-26F Marauder variant with its distinctive increased wing angle of attack

The fuselage features specific characteristics unique to the B-26F Marauder variant

The model mains accurate geometry and proportions of the real aircraft

Detailed recreation of both cockpit and fuselage components

Includes decals for three aircraft versions featuring unique nose art designs

Markings Available

B-26F-1-MA 42-96255 "Miss Manookie", 586th Bombardment Squadron, 394th Bombardment Group, Holmsley South, August 1944

B-26F-1-MA 42-96281 "Redlight Rosie", 587th Bombardment Squadron, 394th Bombardment Group, 1944

B-26F-1-MA 42-96323 "Zombie IV", 587th Bombardment Squadron, 394th Bombardment Group, 1944

Model Information

Scale: 1:48

Number of Parts: 380

Length: 387 mm

Width: 454 mm

Includes detailed assembly instructions

Highly detailed sprues with high accuracy made from quality plastic

Box size: 410 x 260 x 55 mm

Images of the Model

Examples of the Decals & Sprues
At a glance

Scale: 1:48

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Aircraft

Nation: American

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: ICM

Product code: ICM48325

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
