One plane to come to fruition from this desire was the twin-engine bomber Ju 88 designed and produced by German company Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke AG (commonly known as Junkers). From the spring of 1940 they produced Ju 88A-5 planes with an increased wingspan and liquid-cooled Jumo 211G-1 or H-1 engines. In 1940-1941, around 2000 Ju 88A-5 bombers were produced. They took part in all late 1940-1941 Luftwaffe operations – in the Battle of Britain, and also in Balkans and the Eastern Front.

Model Features

ICM's first Ju88A-5 plastic model kit

An accurate copy of the prototype

Highly detailed engines and cockpit interior

Four version decal sheet is included

Markings Available

Junkers Ju 88A-5, 4./LG 1, France, August 1940

Junkers Ju 88A-5, 5./LG 1, Greece, May 1941

Junkers Ju 88A-5, 5./KG 30, Puri (Finland), Autumn 1941

Junkers Ju 88A-5, 8./KG 76, Russia, December 1941

Model Information

Scale: 1:48

Number of Parts: 250 pieces

Wingspan: 418 mm

Length: 300 mm

Includes detailed assembly instructions

Highly detailed sprues with high accuracy made from quality plastic

Box size: 410 x 260 x 55 mm

At a glance

Scale: 1:48

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Aircraft

Nation: German

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: ICM

Product code: ICM48232

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
