The main innovations introduced by the T-34 included the sloped frontal armour, which provided greater protection against incoming fire, and the adoption of wide tracks, ideal for achieving good mobility across all types of terrain. The first T-34s, equipped with a short-barrelled 76 mm gun, quickly gained an operational advantage over the most common German tanks of the time, such as the Panzer III and Panzer IV. In 1943, the T-34 was further improved with the introduction of a completely new turret featuring thicker armour and capable of housing the long-barrelled 85 mm gun. With the deployment of the first T-34/85s to armoured units, the Soviet armies were able to match even the most modern and effective German tanks, such as the Tiger and the Panther.

Scale is 1:35

Size of the model is 23.3cm

Photo-etched fret

Metal gun barrel

Rubber track

Link & length tracks

Decal options for Soviet Union (three versions), Polish Tank Brigade, Yugoslavia Liberation Army, and an interesting captured German version

At a glance

Scale: 1:35

Subject: Tanks

Nation: Russian

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: Italeri

Product code: 6758

Special Order - ETA 2-4 Weeks. We order this in for you from the UK distributor, so please allow 2 to 4 weeks for it to reach you.
