Beriev Taganrog Complex based on the Il-76 military cargo plane, to replace the aging TU-126 reconnaissance aircraft. Equipped with the giant Shmel radar, it enables an effective radar warning and guidance system. It was introduced into service in 1989. The A-50 can be used to detect and track air and surface targets, in order to report their locations to army command posts with automated control system for deployment of various air and surface weaponry. They may also be used to guide fighter and strike aircraft to air, land and sea targets, as well as serve as an air command post.

Scale is 1:144

The kit consists of 195 parts

Model length is 33.9cm

Decal sheet for various Soviet versions included

Also includes a stand for the aeroplane

At a glance

Scale: 1:144

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Aircraft

Nation: Russian

Era: 1980s

Brand: Zvezda

Product code: Z7024

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
