Before the start of World War II, the airborne units also became part of the Wehrmacht. By their well-coordinated combat work and the use of Ju-52 transport aircraft, the German paratroopers achieved great success in a number of operations at the initial stage of the war.

The largest of these was Operation Mercury, which captured the island of Crete from May 20th to June 1st 1941. Up to 24,000 paratroopers and 1,200 aircraft participated. In the second half of the war, the German airborne troops were used mainly as regular infantry units to support ground forces. The successful actions of the German paratroopers forced the Allied leadership to reconsider their attitude towards this new branch of the military.

Scale is 1:35

The kit consists of 72 parts

Average figure height is 5cm

At a glance

Scale: 1:35

Type: Assembly Kit

Subject: Figures

Nation: German

Era: 1939-1945 - World War II

Brand: Zvezda

Product code: Z3628

Supplied unassembled and unpainted.
