Jaipur is the two-player trading duel that looks simple and plays like a knife fight. Each turn you either take cards or sell them — that's it — but every choice hands your opponent something too. Do you grab the camels, snatch the best good, or leave the market baited and hope they blink? It's quick, sharp and dangerously moreish, the sort of game that ends with "right, best of three".
At a glance
- 2 players
- Playing time: around 30 minutes
- Recommended age: 12+
- Standalone head-to-head card game
How it plays
- Collect and sell six goods; higher-value tokens drain as the game goes on, so timing is everything
- Camels never sell but grease your exchanges — and the biggest herd is worth a five-point bonus
- Sell three or more of a good in one go to bank a bonus scoring token
Tight, tense and over in half an hour — Jaipur is a proper two-player staple that earns its keep on any shelf.
The gold standard for a quick, clever game for two. A pack of sleeves will keep it shuffling sweetly through years of rematches.
