Know Your Realms

I Four peoples, one banner

Humans, aelves, duardin and the god-forged Stormcast — the Grand Alliance of Order musters them all.

II The God-King's crusade

Sigmar’s Stormcast Eternals spearhead the reconquest of the Mortal Realms, realmgate by realmgate.

III A great place to start

The Stormcast Eternals are tough, forgiving and simple to paint — the classic first Age of Sigmar army.

The Lore

Order is the banner beneath which the defenders of the Mortal Realms rally — the God-King's thunderous Stormcast Eternals, the proud aelven hosts, the sky-faring Kharadron and the disciplined free peoples of the great cities. They share no single creed, only the conviction that the realms are worth saving.

Where Order marches, ruined civilisations rise again: sigmarite strongholds, floating sky-ports and gleaming realm-cities push back the wilds and the works of Chaos.

On the Tabletop

Order armies span every style of play — the tough, forgiving Stormcast Eternals make a superb first army, while aelven and duardin hosts reward speed, magic and disciplined gunlines. Whatever your taste, there is a faction of Order to match it.

More about the Order range

The forces of Order — the God-King's thunderous Stormcast Eternals, the sky-faring duardin of the Kharadron, the proud and ancient aelven hosts and the free peoples of the great cities — stand united against the encroaching dark. They share no single creed, only the conviction that the Mortal Realms are worth saving. Choose your faction below.

Age of Sigmar Order – The Grand Alliance of Order Armies The Grand Alliance of Order brings together every army in Age of Sigmar that fights, however uneasily, on the same side against Chaos, Death and Destruction. This collection covers Stormcast Eternals, Cities of Sigmar, Daughters of Khaine, Fyreslayers, Idoneth Deepkin, Kharadron Overlords, Lumineth Realm-Lords, Seraphon and Sylvaneth — nine very different armies united by little more than a shared enemy. Age of Sigmar is currently on its 4th Edition, which launched with the Skaventide boxed set in 2024 and has been through a steady run of new battletomes since. Lumineth Realm-Lords got a refreshed battletome and new releases in February 2026, so if you last looked at them a couple of editions ago, the range and rules have both moved on. Stormcast Eternals are the obvious starting point for most new players — they're the "face" army of the setting, get the most model support, and have the deepest well of painting guides and tutorials online. Cities of Sigmar is the pick if you want a mixed-race army of humans, duardin and aelves rather than one single species. For something more distinctive, Fyreslayers and Kharadron Overlords are both duardin factions with sharply different aesthetics — magma-forged berserkers versus airship-borne traders — and Idoneth Deepkin and Sylvaneth lean into a darker, more otherworldly fantasy look than the rest of Order. However you build an Order force, the Grand Alliance's shared theme is a fragile, temporary truce rather than a real alliance — most of these armies would happily fight each other if Chaos, Death and Destruction weren't a bigger problem. That tension is worth leaning into if you're painting for lore rather than just tournament lists. Frequently Asked Questions

Age of Sigmar is Games Workshop's fantasy tabletop wargame, set in the Mortal Realms and currently on its 4th Edition, launched with the Skaventide boxed set in 2024. It uses the same collect-an-army, build-a-list, play-games structure as Warhammer 40,000, in a high-fantasy setting.

We stock nine Order armies: Stormcast Eternals, Cities of Sigmar, Daughters of Khaine, Fyreslayers, Idoneth Deepkin, Kharadron Overlords, Lumineth Realm-Lords, Seraphon and Sylvaneth. They share no single culture or creed — only a common cause against Chaos, Death and Destruction.

Stormcast Eternals are the easiest entry point — they're the setting's flagship army, so they get the most new releases and the widest range of painting guides and tutorials. Cities of Sigmar is a good alternative if you'd rather field a mixed-race army.

Start with a basecoat in your army's main colour, apply a wash to settle into recesses and add depth, then pick out edges and details with a lighter highlight colour. It's the same core technique used across most Citadel miniature ranges.

Yes — Lumineth Realm-Lords received a refreshed battletome and new model releases in February 2026, so the range and rules are current rather than left over from an earlier edition.
