SprueTube

From the shop that built it · free to join

From sprue to finished.

SprueTube is where miniature painters and model makers post what they are actually working on — half-primed, badly lit, unfinished and all. Follow a build from the first clipped part to the last highlight.

It is a separate site at spruetube.app, with its own login, built and paid for by Loaded Dice.

Free · 13+ · No algorithm deciding your hobby is out of fashion.

Post the middle bit.

Every other feed wants the finished model, lit properly, on a nice base. SprueTube is built for the rest of the hobby — the bit where it is half-primed on the kitchen table at eleven at night and you are still not sure about the red.

Every post carries the stage the model is at, so a work in progress is the point rather than an apology.

  1. Still on the sprue
  2. Assembled
  3. Primed
  4. Base coated
  5. Shaded
  6. Highlighted
  7. Based
  8. Finished

The same eight words run through posts, build logs and your stash — so a pile of unopened boxes and a finished army are counted the same way.

What you get

Build logs, not just photos

Group your posts into a project and the whole thing reads as one story — sprue, assembly, primer, first coat, done. Nobody has to scroll back through a year of feed to find where you started.

Answer the paint question once

Tag the paints you used and they appear under the photo, so nobody has to ask what you did for the red. Write it up properly as a recipe and other people can follow it, step by step, on their own model.

Count the pile of shame

Your stash is everything you own and have not painted yet, counted honestly and tagged with the same stage words as your posts. Keep it public for the accountability, or private if you would genuinely rather not know.

Helpful marks that mean something

Mark a comment that actually helped. When three different people mark the same one, it earns a Helpful badge — so the best advice rises, not the loudest voice.

Explore, boards and challenges

A top-painters board, the work getting attention right now, and regular painting challenges to enter. Feeds by tag and by game system too, so 1/35 armour and 40k do not have to share.

Commission a painter, or take the work

Painters list their prices, their turnaround and the systems they paint. Find someone to finish the army that has been staring at you since 2019, or put your own brush up for hire.

Buy, sell and beg

Second-hand miniatures, kits and paint, plus wanted posts for the one sprue you are missing. Listings and contact only — you sort the rest out between yourselves.

Bring your back catalogue

Import from Instagram without uploading a gigabyte of archive. Your export is read in your own browser, only the photos you pick are sent, and every post keeps its original date — so ten years of work does not land on everyone's feed at once.

Moderated properly

Report anything in two taps, block anyone, mute the rest. A human looks at every report and there is an audit trail behind it. No pile-ons.

Three minutes to your first post

  1. 1

    Make an account

Email and a password, or Google or Apple. It is free. Your Loaded Dice shop account does not carry over, so sign up fresh.

  2. 2

Post what is on the desk

Up to eight photos, the game system, the stage it is at, and the paints you used. Group it into a project and it becomes a build log.

  3. 3

    Find your people

Follow painters whose work you like, ask the awkward questions, mark the answers that actually helped, and enter the odd challenge.

Questions, answered

Is it really free?

Yes. Free to join, free to post, and there is nothing to upgrade to. It is built and paid for by Loaded Dice. The only commercial part is that the paints you tag on a post can link out to somewhere that sells them.

Do I need a Loaded Dice account?

No. SprueTube is a separate site with its own login, so your shop account does not carry over — sign up fresh. You do not have to buy anything from us, ever, to use it.

Is it just Warhammer?

No. Any miniature or model is welcome — 40k and Age of Sigmar, yes, but also historicals, scale armour and aircraft, Gunpla, terrain, D&D minis and whatever else is on the desk. Every post carries its game system or scale, so you can follow the corner of the hobby you care about.

Is there an app?

Not in the App Store yet. The site is built for a phone, and if you add it to your Home Screen it behaves like an app — notifications included.

How old do you have to be?

Thirteen and over. There are house rules, a reporting button on every post, comment and profile, and a moderation queue behind them that a real person works through.

Who is behind it?

Loaded Dice — the tabletop shop on Holton Road in Barry. It started life as a community feed inside this website and outgrew it. It is not a marketplace, it does not take a cut of anything, and there is a bugs-and-ideas form on the site that comes straight to us.

Right then — grab a handle.

It takes a minute, it costs nothing, and the first post is always the worst one you will ever make.
