The Lore
The Thousand Sons were scholars of the Warp who burned their own future to save their knowledge. The Rubric of Ahriman — cast to end their Legion's mutations — reduced most of them to sealed suits of animate dust, leaving the sorcerers to lead legions of silent, tireless Rubricae.
From the Planet of the Sorcerers, Magnus the Red and his sons play Tzeentch's great game: every defeat a feint, every victory a footnote in a plan nobody — including them — fully understands.
On the Tabletop
A control and tempo army: cabals of sorcerers generate a shared pool of Cabal points, spent to warp key rolls, double-cast the crucial power or land mortal wounds exactly where the plan requires. Rubric Marines are unnervingly durable for their cost, and their warpflame shreds infantry.
They reward sequencing above all — the player who plans three casts ahead wins games that look lost. Not a beginner's army, but a supremely satisfying one for schemers.
