Is this a starter set for someone new to Age of Sigmar?
Not quite. This is an army box — a discounted bundle of models for one faction, supplied as standard multipart kits, with no mat, dice or introductory rules in the box. You'll need glue, clippers and paints. If you're starting from nothing, a proper starter set is the better first purchase; if you've picked your faction, this is the best-value way to build it.
Spearhead is Age of Sigmar's small-scale format — a fixed, pre-built force of around a dozen models, tighter rules, and games that finish in well under an hour. Each Spearhead box is exactly that force in plastic, so it's both a legal army for the format and a sensible first chunk of a bigger collection.
Do the models need glue and clippers?
Yes — these are standard multipart Citadel kits, supplied on sprues, unpainted and unassembled. Plastic glue and clippers are the minimum you'll want, plus a hobby knife for tidying mould lines.
No — models only. Warscrolls for these units are available free through Games Workshop's app, so you can get them on the table without another purchase. The printed battletome is for the lore and the full faction rules.
Are Disciples of Tzeentch a good army to start with?
Only if you enjoy juggling. Tzeentch are the most magic-dependent army in the game, with layered spells and effects that reward learning the rules properly before you commit. Endlessly interesting, but there's a lot going on for a first faction.
