The Roper is the dungeon's great pretender — a cave-dwelling predator that sits stone-still like an ordinary rock formation, then lashes out with sticky tendrils to reel in its dinner. It's a superb "nothing here is quite what it seems" monster, and the craggy sculpt is a satisfying stone-effect painting project.
