Warm Red is the oil to reach for once a red-primer basecoat needs believable light pushed back into it, lifting reds and reddish-brown uniforms with a warm, sun-caught highlight rather than a flat, chalky one. It's equally handy for non-metallic metal (NMM) work, where a touch of warmth in the transitions sells the illusion of reflected light, and for blood, gore and rust effects on any model that needs a splash of aggressive colour. On dioramas, it's the shade that brings brick, tile and terracotta bases to life.
Best for
- Highlighting red-primer basecoats and reddish uniforms
- NMM (non-metallic metal) transitions and warm-tone filters
- Blood, gore and rust effects
- Diorama brick, tile and terracotta detailing
Like every Abteilung 502 oil, it's a low-oil, high-pigment formula that dries to a matte finish and stays workable long enough to actually blend, rather than skinning over on the palette.
A warm red for highlights, NMM and diorama detail. Works alongside the rest of the Abteilung 502 oil range, and a fine detail brush makes the blending far easier.
