Army Painter Quickshade is the great shortcut that changed tabletop painting — a rich, varnish-based shade that flows into every recess in a single pass, instantly adding depth and definition. Soft Tone is the lightest of the three: a warm, subtle shade that adds gentle shadow without darkening your colours too far, ideal for pale skin, bone, white cloth and bright schemes.
Best for
Subtle shading that keeps colours bright
Pale skin, bone, white cloth and light schemes
Dipping or brushing onto a whole model quickly
The gentle option when you want definition without the grime — perfect for lighter, cleaner armies.
The fast track to a finished army. Follow up with a matte varnish to knock back the shine.
