The one ink no painting desk should be without. Vallejo's Game Ink Black is a transparent shading colour that flows into recesses, deepens shadows and unifies a paint job in a single pass. Use it as a wash, a glaze or a tinting agent — it's the quiet workhorse behind a lot of great-looking models.
Best for
Dries to a satin finish
Shading, washes, glazing and deepening shadows
Mixes with any acrylic colour or medium to tint and darken
Brush into recesses, or thin further for a subtle glaze; airbrush-friendly
A drop of black ink in a wash can pull an entire model together and make edge highlights pop.
The shading colour you'll reach for on almost every model. Pair it with a wash medium to control the flow and a matt varnish to seal the job.
