Dark Red is a deep, slightly muted red — a proper workhorse base for cloaks, banners, armour and any red that should look solid and grounded rather than cartoon-bright. A dependable staple of Vallejo's Model Color range.
Best for
Cloaks, banners and armour
A grounded base red to highlight up from
Smooth, self-levelling coats with minimal brushstrokes
Lay it down solid and lift with a brighter red for cloth with depth, or shade it darker for real shadow in the folds.
The reliable red every army needs. Pair it with a bright red highlight and a dark wash.
