Mournfang Brown is a rich, warm mid-brown — the reliable base for leather, wood, straps and earthy basing. It covers cleanly in a coat or two and takes a shade beautifully, which is why it turns up on so many models.
Best for
Laying a solid, opaque foundation in one or two coats
Blocking in leather, wood and earth tones
Taking layer highlights and shade washes cleanly over the top
Get it down early and the rest of the model builds faster — a warm brown base does half the work on leather and timber.
Get it down early and the whole model builds faster. Fill out your base paints, then move up through the layer range — and grab a brush while you're here.
