Prime 1 Studio make the statues that other statues are compared to. Big, polystone, hand-finished, and frequently heavier than a Labrador. The top end isn't so much a collectible as a piece of furniture with a licence attached.
They also make something much more manageable: Prisma Wing, a line of 1/7 scale anime figures that fit on a normal shelf and don't need two people to unbox. Here's how the two sides of Prime 1 differ, what all the Masterline names mean, and the practical stuff nobody mentions until the courier is standing at your door with three cartons and a sore back.
Who are Prime 1 Studio?
Prime 1 Studio is a Japanese company, founded on 30 March 2012, with its head office in Asakusa, Tokyo. It makes premium collectibles under official licences from film, comics, games and anime, and sells across Asia, North America and Europe.
The name is attached to a few different brands. PRIME 1 STATUE covers the large polystone statues the company built its reputation on, Prisma Wing is the PVC anime figure line, and they also run Prime Collectible Figures, Build Art Masterline and the cutesy Cutie1 range. The common thread is a hyper-realistic, slightly theatrical finish: dramatic bases, light-up effects, and sculpts that hold up to very close inspection.
The ranges, explained in plain English
Prime 1's statue names are all variations on "Masterline", which is about as helpful as every dish on a menu being called "Chef's Special". Here's the translation.
- Museum Masterline: the classic big Prime 1 statue, at large scales such as 1/3, made from polystone and other materials. To give you a sense of size, their 1/3 Museum Masterline Batman from The Batman stands about 79cm tall and weighs nearly 20kg.
- HD Museum Masterline: a high-definition take on the Museum Masterline format.
- Premium Masterline and Ultimate Premium Masterline: big polystone statues at scales such as 1/4. Prime 1's Ultimate Premium Masterline Vergil from Devil May Cry 5 is a 1/4 piece, about 77cm tall and around 12.6kg.
- Ultimate Diorama Masterline: the full-scene line. Characters plus a large environment, monster or vehicle, built as one display. This is where the really enormous pieces live.
- Concept Masterline: statues built around concept art and imaginative takes rather than straight screen accuracy. Our Devil May Cry V Concept Masterline 1/6 Vergil Bonus Version is £730.99 at the time of writing; at 1/6 it stands about 39cm and weighs under 5kg, which by Prime 1 standards is practically portable.
- Real Elite Masterline: Prime 1's line focused on realism in materials, sculpting and paint.
- Prisma Wing: Prime 1's line dedicated to manga, anime and video game characters. These are pre-painted 1/7 scale figures made mostly from PVC and ABS (some with resin parts), typically in the 17 to 27cm range. Ours run from £244.99 for the Tokyo Revengers Inui to £512.99 for The Case Study of Vanitas at the time of writing.
You'll also see "Bonus Version" on a lot of listings. On Prime 1 releases, the bonus version typically includes extra parts for people who pre-order, such as an alternate hand or accessory. Check the product page for exactly what's included.
Masterline statues vs Prisma Wing: two different hobbies
It's the same company, but buying a Masterline statue and buying a Prisma Wing figure are very different experiences. Know which one you're signing up for.
The Masterline statues
- Material: polystone and other materials, hand-finished. Prime 1 says plainly that, because each piece is handmade, the final size can vary by up to 10% and weight can change during production.
- Size: large. The Horizon Forbidden West Ultimate Diorama Masterline Aloy vs The Slitherfang is about 82cm tall, 58cm wide and 88cm deep. That's not a shelf piece, it's a floor plan.
- Weight: serious. That Aloy diorama is listed at around 52kg for the statue alone and arrives in three cartons. The Evangelion Test Type-01 Ultimate Diorama Masterline is about 29kg.
- Price: hundreds to thousands. The Aloy vs The Slitherfang is £2,399 with us at the time of writing.
- Who it's for: collectors with a dedicated display space, a sturdy floor and a very clear idea of what they want.
Prisma Wing
- Material: PVC and ABS, sometimes with resin parts. Lighter and more forgiving to handle than polystone.
- Size: 1/7 scale, roughly the size of other premium anime scale figures. Prime 1's Prisma Wing Ai from Oshi no Ko is about 17.6cm; their No Game No Life Shiro is about 27cm with its base.
- Style: Prime 1 bring the same base-building habit across: themed, detailed stands with props rather than a plain disc. Some releases include swappable faces or hands.
- Price: a few hundred pounds. Ours start at £244.99 at the time of writing.
- Who it's for: anime fans who want Prime 1 craftsmanship without rearranging the furniture.
Lead times and measuring up: the practical bit
Big statues take a long time to arrive
- Large Prime 1 pieces are typically announced a long way ahead of release. The Aloy vs The Slitherfang diorama is listed with us for September 2027 at the time of writing.
- Windows can move. Handmade, licensed, heavy products go through approvals, production and freight, and any of those can slip. If you need a statue for a specific birthday, this is not the brand for a deadline.
- Pre-ordering is still the right move: once a limited statue is gone, you're at the mercy of the secondary market.
Measure before you order, not after
- Check all three dimensions. Depth catches people out. An 88cm-deep diorama won't fit on a standard bookshelf or most display cabinets.
- Check the weight against the furniture. Glass cabinets and flat-pack shelves have load limits. A 20kg-plus statue wants something solid, low down, ideally on the floor or a purpose-built plinth.
- Check the route in. Multi-carton statues need floor space to unpack, and a doorway the boxes will fit through.
- Allow for the 10%. Prime 1's own small print allows for size variation, so leave a bit of breathing room.
- Plan the unboxing. Two people, a clear floor and time. Polystone chips if it's knocked, and it doesn't forgive a dropped part.
So which one should you buy?
If it's your first Prime 1 piece
- Start with Prisma Wing. Tokyo Revengers Inui (£244.99) is the most affordable way in at the time of writing.
- Re:Zero fans can pick from Rem, Ram or Echidna Glass Editions (£305.99 to £332.99).
If you want a gift for an anime fan
- Oshi no Ko Ai (£357.99) or KonoSuba Aqua (£321.99).
- Vocaloid fans: Kagamine Rin or Len (£324.99 to £410.99).
If you want a shelf centrepiece without needing a new room
- So I'm a Spider, So What? Ariel (£447.99) or The Case Study of Vanitas (£512.99) are the most elaborate Prisma Wing pieces we list.
- The Devil May Cry V Concept Masterline 1/6 Vergil Bonus Version (£730.99) gets you a proper polystone statue at a size most people can still house.
If you've got the space and the budget
- Horizon Forbidden West Aloy vs The Slitherfang (82cm, £2,399). Measure twice. Then measure the stairs.

How ordering works with us
Most of our Prime 1 range is listed as pre-orders we bring in especially for you. You order from us, we order it in from our European distributor, and it ships to you when it lands.
New releases are genuine pre-orders with a release window. Check each product page for its current availability and timing, and for the dimensions and weight before you commit. Pre-ordering is how you get a statue at its normal price rather than paying secondary-market prices after release.

The honest bit: what we'd swerve
Buying the box before the space. The biggest mistake with Prime 1 isn't the price, it's the size. If you don't have a spot measured and cleared, don't order the statue yet.
Sunlight. UV fades paint over time and can discolour clear and translucent effect parts. Plenty of Prime 1 pieces use translucent effect parts and LED lighting, so keep them well away from windows. Use LED lighting rather than anything that gets hot.
Heat and cold. Polystone isn't keen on high temperatures. Keep it away from radiators and log burners. If a statue arrives on a cold day, let the cartons come up to room temperature before you start handling parts.
Too-cheap listings. Premium statues attract knock-offs and dodgy resellers. Buy from an established retailer. A bargain-priced "new" Prime 1 piece from an unknown seller is a risk you don't need.
Binning the cartons. Keep every box and all the foam. Moving a big statue without them is how heirlooms become rubble.
Paying extra for a "Bonus" you don't want. If the bonus part is something you'll never display, don't let it drive which listing you pick.

The short version
- Prime 1 Studio is a Tokyo company, founded in 2012, known for very large polystone statues.
- Museum, Premium, Concept and Ultimate Diorama Masterline are all big polystone statue lines; Ultimate Diorama Masterline is the full-scene, largest end.
- Prisma Wing is the 1/7 scale PVC anime figure line: shelf-friendly and a sensible way in.
- Masterline pieces can weigh tens of kilos and come in several cartons. Measure height, width and depth, and check your furniture's weight limit.
- Release windows are long and can move. Don't buy for a deadline.
- Keep statues out of direct sun and away from heat, and keep the packaging.

Final thought: a Prime 1 statue is a commitment of money, patience and floor space, in roughly equal measure. Start with Prisma Wing if you're unsure, and only go Masterline once you've measured the room.
