UGEARS kits are mechanical models built from precision laser-cut wooden sheets, and the clever bit is that they actually work. Gears turn, wheels drive, doors open and secret compartments slide out — all from parts you pop free and slot together without a drop of glue. Pick one up on a Friday and by Sunday you've got a desk piece that moves, and a story about how you built it.
What's in the range?
We carry the licensed UGEARS lines alongside their own originals. Harry Potter fans can build the Hogwarts Express, Hogwarts Castle, the Gringotts Bank marble run or the Quidditch pinball table. Star Wars brings the Millennium Falcon, X-Wing, TIE Fighter, R2-D2 and AT-ST. For space buffs there's NASA's Saturn V and Space Shuttle Discovery, and the UGEARS originals include the Book of Secrets, the Antique Box and a couple of seriously impressive dragons.
What do I need to build one?
Everything that goes into the model is in the box, with step-by-step illustrated instructions. A clear table and a bit of patience are the main tools — though a hobby knife for tidying the odd tab never hurts, and you'll find those in our hobby tools range.
Prefer metal?
If you like the idea of a glue-free build but fancy something smaller and shinier, have a look at our Metal Earth 3D metal model kits.
