Army Painter's Desert Yellow primer was originally mixed for WWII desert vehicles and uniforms, but this warm sandy yellow has long since escaped the battlefield — scenery, horses, Beastmen, Skaven and pale timber all take to it. Undercoat and basecoat sorted in a single pass, ready for a wash to do the rest.
Why it's good
Matt finish, colour-matched to the Warpaints range for touch-ups
Primes and basecoats sandy, earthy schemes fast
Even coverage that preserves fine detail
Doubles as a warm skin base on exposed flesh
Perfect for batch-painting a desert force without your painting arm dropping off.
A warm sand basecoat in seconds. Follow up with a Basecoating Brush and a Strong Tone wash to bring the depth out.
