Not every battlefield is green. Deserts, dust bowls and sunburnt outposts need their own groundwork, and that's exactly what this Desert Sand from War World Scenics' Battlefields & Basing range delivers — a fine, warm-toned scenic sand that turns bare plastic into parched earth in one pass.
Best for
Desert, wasteland and arid-theatre armies and boards
A consistent dusty groundwork across an entire force
Fine texture that sits neatly under rocks, tufts and scatter
How to use
Brush PVA onto the base, sprinkle or dip the sand, then tap off the excess
Seal once dry, then wash and drybrush to lift the grain
Combine with cork or rubble for broken, uneven desert ground
One pass and a whole regiment goes from bare plastic to standing on genuine sun-baked earth — no faffing about with real sand and sieves.
The groundwork for any desert force. Pair it with PVA glue and a few rocks or tufts for contrast.
