Da Red Gobbo is back for Christmas 2026, and this year he has wheels. Games Workshop revealed Da Red Gobbo’s Squigmobile on Warhammer Community on 16 October: a new festive Warhammer 40,000 miniature of the gretchin revolutionary barrelling about on a present-delivery contraption, with his miserable 'elf' assistant wedged into a bomb-shaped sidecar. Games Workshop says pre-orders open soon; no price or release date has been announced yet.
He is not travelling alone. Black Library is also releasing a new novella, Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning, by Chem Dog author Callum Davis. If you collect the festive grots, the previous one, Da Red Gobbo’s Tinboy, is still listed on our site, alongside the rest of our Orks range.

What is Da Red Gobbo’s Squigmobile?
Games Workshop describes it as a roaring, clanking machine built for delivering presents at speed. The key details from the reveal:
- The rider: Da Red Gobbo himself, at the controls and, by GW's own account, possibly without any idea how to stop.
- The passenger: his long-suffering 'elf' helper, sat in a sidecar shaped like a bomb. GW admits it might actually be a bomb.
- Safety equipment: Da Gobbo is wearing a helmet. Progress.
- Game: Warhammer 40,000, revealed under the Orks banner.
- Price and release date: not yet announced. Pre-orders are described as coming soon.
GW also nods to Wazdakka Gutsmek as an influence, and it shows. This is a gretchin who has clearly been watching the Speed Freeks and taking notes.

Can you play with it?
Yes, casually. Games Workshop says this year's Festive Activities Guide will be available from Warhammer stores in November, and it covers three games:
- Warhammer 40,000: Legends rules for the Squigmobile.
- Kill Team: rules using the Nemesis Operatives format.
- Blood Bowl: rules too. Yes, really. Nobody is more surprised than us.
Legends rules mean fun games at home or at the club, not your next tournament list. Which is exactly where a bomb-powered sleigh belongs.
New novella: Da Red Gobbo’s Reckoning
Callum Davis's new story follows Ector Flynn, a ratling fixer, and his sniper squad. Fed up with months of being pushed around by their Catachan commanders, they are sent into a snowy wasteland to hunt Da Red Gobbo, see it as their chance to prove themselves, and, this being a Red Gobbo story, things do not go to plan.
If you fancy fielding Flynn's lot on the table, Kill Team: Ratlings is the box. For reading in the meantime, we list the Da Red Gobbo Collection and Da Red Gobbo’s Last Stand, plus the wider Black Library range.

What it means for you
Our take: the Red Gobbo is the one Christmas tradition that improves with every gretchin-sized disaster, and putting him on a vehicle is a big step up from previous years. It is a painting project first and a gaming piece second, which makes it an easy gift for any Ork player, or anyone who enjoys painting a lot of red and white.
Until Games Workshop confirms price, date and how it will be sold, treat any figure you see elsewhere as a guess. We will update this article once the details are official. In the meantime, the Tinboy, the Da Red Gobbo plush and the Red Gobbo bauble all live in our Christmas Gift Shop.
Final thought: the galaxy is grim and dark, but at least once a year a small green revolutionary turns up with presents, a helmet and very questionable brakes.
