Hobbies

Hobbies – The UK's Model Shop for Painters and Modellers Loaded Dice is built around one department more than any other: hobbies. This is where miniature painters, wargamers and scale modellers find everything needed to go from a bare model to a finished, painted piece — paints, brushes, tools, basing materials, airbrushing equipment and weathering products, sourced from every major brand rather than just one. We're a specialist hobby retailer rather than a general toy shop with a paint aisle bolted on. Our team paint and model themselves, so if you need advice on the right primer for resin, which brush suits fine detail work, or how to get started with an airbrush, that's exactly the kind of question we're set up to answer — in the Barry shop or online. If you're new to the hobby, the easiest starting point is a beginner-friendly paint range — Army Painter's Speedpaint 2.0 or Warhammer Colour's Base range both give solid results without years of technique behind them — plus a basic brush set and a cutting tool. From there, most painters build outward: washes or contrast paints for shading, edge highlights for definition, and eventually an airbrush once base coating larger batches of models becomes worth the investment. Beyond paint, this collection covers the tools that make the hobby easier rather than just possible — precision clippers, hobby knives, basing materials for scenic bases, and weathering powders and pigments for painters pushing into display-quality finishes. We stock premium and professional-grade products alongside beginner ranges, so whether you're outfitting a first paint station or filling a gap in an established one, it's stocked here. Browse the full hobbies range in our Barry, South Wales shop or online at loadeddice.uk, with fast UK dispatch on every order.
