About Sons of Behemat — Lore & How They Play
The Sons of Behemat are the children of the slumbering Godbeast, and the largest models to walk the Mortal Realms under their own steam. Gargants don't manoeuvre or hold objectives so much as arrive at them, and anything already standing there becomes a problem for the cleaners.

The latest Battletome, released September 2026, adds two new 'small' gargant units, an in-depth Path to Glory section for narrative play, and updated monstrous rampage rules — plus expanded lore covering Ma Maegran's rise and her uneasy relationship with King Brodd.
Fewer than almost any other Age of Sigmar faction — a handful of Mega-Gargants and a King Brodd or Ma Maegran centrepiece can form a legal, tabletop-ready force, since each model is enormous and correspondingly powerful rather than cheap and disposable.
King Brodd's health dropped to 28 in the current rules, alongside the other Mega-Gargants sitting at 25, and he now blesses allies with one of three effects on a chanting roll of 5 — building to 10 triggers two effects at once, including The Might of the Earth, which heals friendly units.
Mega-Gargants like King Brodd and Ma Maegran are the faction's original centrepiece models — enormous, high-health monsters that anchor an army. The new 'small' gargant units introduced in the 2026 battletome are more numerous, cheaper support pieces, giving Sons of Behemat players a way to fill out a battleline without every model being a single giant.
It can be, if you enjoy a small model count and straightforward, aggressive gameplay — Gargants don't manoeuvre subtly, they arrive and remove whatever's in the way, which keeps tactics simple even if painting a Mega-Gargant-sized model is a bigger undertaking than a standard infantry kit.
