Tainted Gold is a warm, slightly grimy gold with just enough dirt in the tone to look ancient rather than shop-fresh. It's the gold for reliquaries, temple guard, cursed treasure and grand heraldry — rich straight from the pot, and stunning once a shade settles into the detail.
Best for
Heraldry, trim and religious iconography
Treasure hoards and ornate armour
Brush or airbrush application
Base it solid, wash the recesses with a brown or sepia shade, then edge back up with a brighter gold for depth and age.
An antique gold with real character. Team it with a brown shade to age it and a bright gold for highlights.
