Dark Tone is the wash every painter ends up buying by the crate. This deep black-brown shade is the all-purpose workhorse for instant definition — flow it over almost any colour and it sinks into the recesses, sharpens the detail and ties a whole model together in one pass.
Best for
All-purpose shading across any scheme
Metals, armour and leather
Sharpening detail on infantry at speed
One coat over a base colour and the whole model snaps into focus — the single most useful pot on the desk.
The do-everything shade no hobby desk is without. Pair it with a set of base colours and a lighter tone for highlights.
