Grey is the primer most painters reach for — neutral enough to sit under any colour without skewing it, and kind to your highlights and shadows both. Vallejo's Surface Primer gives you a self-levelling acrylic-polyurethane base that grips plastic, resin and metal while preserving the finest detail, and the big 200ml bottle is built for army-scale work.
Best for
Flip-top bottle with eyedropper
For brush or airbrush — solvent-free and not flammable
A neutral base under any colour scheme
Airbrushing at around 15–20 PSI
Priming resin, PVC, metal and wood
The go-to grey that just works, whatever you're painting over it.
