Dunkelgelb is the base coat behind nearly every late-war Panther, Tiger and StuG — the standard dark yellow the German army ran from 1943 onward. AK's Real Colors RC859 is matched to the official RAL 7028 standard, so your armour starts from exactly the right shade rather than an approximation, and it's built as a lacquer-based airbrush paint that flows smoothly and self-levels to a clean, thin finish.
Best for
Late-war German armour base coats
Three-colour camouflage schemes built up over Dunkelgelb
Airbrush work where a thin, even, self-levelling coat matters
How to use
Thin with AK's own Real Colors High Compatibility Thinner for airbrushing
Lay down as the base before adding camouflage disruption
Handles multiple thin coats without losing surface detail
Spray it overall, then break it up with red-brown and green for the definitive 1943–45 German three-tone scheme.
The essential late-war German base coat. Pick up the companion camouflage shades from the full AK Real Colors range.
