AK Interactive Real Colors - RLM 81 Version 3 (RC950)

By the summer of 1944 the Luftwaffe needed a new standard camouflage colour, and RLM 81 was the answer — though exactly which shade you got depended on which manufacturer supplied the paint at the time. This is the khaki rendition, one of the three officially recognised formulas, and it's the one you want for the distinctive late-war look on Fw 190 D-9s, Bf 109 Ks and the jets that followed them.

Best for

• Late-war Luftwaffe upper surfaces from summer 1944 onwards
• Fw 190 D-9, Bf 109 K-4 and Me 262-era subjects
• Airbrush work — the acrylic lacquer formula self-levels straight from the bottle

Mix it with the darker RLM 81 formula across a squadron and you'll get exactly the patchy, mismatched look real Luftwaffe units had when supply lines were falling apart.
