Every hobbyist ends up needing a pot of decent basing sand sooner or later, and this is the one that earns a permanent spot on the bench. Colour Forge's fine grit sand is kiln-dried and ready to use straight from the tub — no rinsing, no drying, no faff — so you can get bases textured and ready for paint the same evening you build them.
Why it's good
Kiln-dried and ready to use straight from the pot — no prep needed
Fine grain takes glue, paint and washes cleanly for a natural ground texture
Generous 400g tub lasts through project after project
How to use
Brush PVA or basing glue onto the base, dip and tap off the excess
Seal with a wash or drybrush once dry for instant depth
Mix with basing rocks or static grass for varied terrain
It's the unglamorous workhorse of a good basing scheme — down as the foundation layer, or blended in for texture that actually looks like ground.
