Official Warhammer 40,000 merch: Bolt Rifle, Squig and Servo Skull bottle openers

Warhammer 40K Merch: The Best Official Merchandise Beyond the Models (2026)

Posted By The Loaded Dice Team on

You've got the army. You've got the paints, the glue, the shelf that's starting to bow in the middle. And yet somehow, when you crack open a drink after a game, you're doing it with a boring steel bottle opener that came free with a takeaway. That, frankly, is heresy.

Warhammer 40K merch has come a long way from a T-shirt and a mug. These days you can open your beer with a Chaos chainsword, pad round the house in slippers shaped like a Red Squig, and paint on a desk mat covered in Dawn of War IV key art. This guide rounds up the best official Warhammer merchandise we've got in stock right now — the stuff that lives in your kitchen, on your feet and across your desk rather than on the tabletop — and sorts it by faction so you can find the right bit of kit for yourself, or for the hobbyist you're buying for. Most of it sits in our Christmas collectibles range, ready to go.

Official Warhammer 40,000 merch bottle openers: Bolt Rifle, Squig and Servo Skull
First things first: make sure it's official

Search Warhammer merch on the big marketplaces and you'll find plenty that looks the part and plenty that very much doesn't. Games Workshop licenses its artwork and designs to a handful of partners — a lot of the 40K household range comes from AAA Merchandise — and the genuine article carries an officially licensed mark on the packaging, with Games Workshop copyright stamped on the product itself.

  • Check the packaging: look for the Warhammer logo and the officially licensed badge on the card or box
  • Check the product: metal pieces usually have the licence and copyright engraved on the back
  • Check the price: a chainsword opener for three quid shipped from overseas is not a bargain, it's a casting of a casting

Everything in this guide is the licensed version. No recasts, no knock-offs, no surprises on Christmas morning.

Bottle openers: the best-value Warhammer merch going

If you only buy one thing from this list, make it a bottle opener. They're properly chunky, they actually work, they come carded and ready to gift, and almost every major faction has one. They're also the best value merch in the hobby — most land around the ten to twelve pound mark at the time of writing.

  • Bolt Rifle bottle opener: the Primaris Space Marine's standard-issue boltgun, winged skull and all. The safe pick for any Space Marine player, whatever their Chapter.
  • Adeptus Astartes chainsword and Chaos chainsword: loyalist and traitor versions of the same full-length blade. Buy both and re-enact the Horus Heresy every time someone asks for a drink.
  • Ork choppa and Squig opener: a pewter cleaver and a grinning red squig. The two cheapest openers in the range and arguably the two most fun.
  • Tyranid bonesword and Necron hyperphase sword: xenos options with genuinely good sculpts — chitin spines on one, cold engraved metal on the other.
  • Servo Skull and Da Red Gobbo: both have magnets on the back, so they live on the fridge door and never go missing in the cutlery drawer. The Red Gobbo, in his Santa hat, is about as Christmassy as 40K gets.
Loungewear: Warhammer merch you can actually wear

Hobby rooms are cold. Garages are colder. Whoever decided the squig — a creature that is roughly 80% teeth — should become the face of Warhammer loungewear deserves a raise, because the Red Squig range is daft, warm and gets a laugh every single time.

Warhammer Red Squig plush slippers, Red Squig slipper socks and Orks patterned socks
  • Red Squig plush slippers: 3D horns, tails, embroidered fangs and non-slip soles. One size, gift-boxed, and the single most-photographed present under any hobbyist's tree.
  • Red Squig slipper socks: thick-knit and sherpa-lined, for anyone who wants the warmth without the horns.
  • Red Squig hooded blanket: an oversized wearable blanket with a horned, fanged hood. Ridiculous. Brilliant. Stock is very limited.
  • Orks and Blood Angels patterned socks: subtler crew socks, UK 8–12, that the right people will spot from across a tournament hall.
Desk mats: the hobby upgrade nobody buys for themselves

A big fabric desk mat is one of those things you never quite get round to buying, then can't believe you lived without. They protect the desk from paint, superglue and hobby knives, give your mouse a decent surface, and at 80 x 30cm they're big enough for a keyboard or a full painting station. All of ours have a non-slip rubber base.

  • Dawn of War IV desk mat: Space Marines, Orks, Adeptus Mechanicus and more from the Dawn of War 4 key art. The obvious pick for anyone who plays 40K on screen as well as on the table.
  • Loyalist and Traitor Legion desk mats: the Horus Heresy Legions in full heraldry. Pick a side, or buy one each for a two-player desk and let the arguments begin.
  • Battletome Covers and Mortal Realms desk mats: the Age of Sigmar equivalents, one stacked with cover art and one a full map of the realms.

Want something bigger to actually play on? Our playmats range covers gaming-sized mats too.

Collectibles: ingots, coasters and display pieces

For the fan who has every model they want (they don't, but they'll claim to), a limited-edition collectible is a step up from another box of plastic. These are display pieces first and conversation starters second.

Warhammer 40K merch: Dawn of War IV desk mat, Guilliman Coronation ingot and Second Edition Codex coasters
  • Guilliman's Coronation ingot: numbered, limited to 5,000 worldwide, with a display stand and presentation box. Ultramarines fans, this one is yours.
  • Commissar Yarrick ingot: the Hero of Hades Hive in gold-finish relief, also capped at 5,000. Very few left.
  • Second Edition Codex coasters: four cork-backed coasters with the classic 1990s codex covers. Pure nostalgia for anyone who started in the Rogue Trader days, and under eight quid.

Collecting the whole set? The full line-up lives in our medallions and ingots collection.

Warhammer merch by faction: a cheat sheet

Don't know much about Warhammer but know which army they play? Match it here.

  • Orks: Ork choppa or Squig bottle opener, Orks socks, any of the Red Squig range
  • Space Marines: Bolt Rifle or Astartes chainsword opener, Blood Angels socks, Loyalist Legion desk mat
  • Ultramarines: Guilliman's Coronation ingot — nothing else comes close
  • Chaos: Chaos chainsword opener, Traitor Legion desk mat
  • Tyranids: Bonesword bottle opener
  • Necrons: Hyperphase sword bottle opener
  • Astra Militarum: Commissar Yarrick ingot
  • Adeptus Mechanicus: Servo Skull bottle opener (the Omnissiah approves)
  • Not sure / plays everything: Dawn of War IV desk mat or the Codex coasters

Still stuck? Our wider Warhammer range has the models, paints and starter sets too.

Buying for Christmas? Read this bit

Licensed merch is made in limited runs and it does sell out — the numbered ingots especially, and once a run is gone it rarely comes back. If there's something specific on your list, don't leave it until the last week. Order by 11:59pm on Monday 21 December for guaranteed Christmas delivery, and if you're local you can always pop into the Barry shop and pick it up in person.

Final thought: the models are the hobby, but the merch is how the hobby leaks into the rest of your house. A chainsword on the fridge, squigs on your feet and Dawn of War under your mouse is a perfectly reasonable way to live. Anyone who disagrees can open their own bottles.
