The amber-tinged grey that replaced plain hai-iro as an anti-corrosive finish from 1940 — overall on IJN aircraft until 1943, then reserved for lower surfaces. Real Colors matches that distinctive warm grey.
Best for
Early and mid-war IJN aircraft
Lower surfaces under the late-war dark green
Use it overall for an early aircraft, or as the light underside beneath D1/D2 green for a 1943-onward machine.
The warm grey of a mid-war IJN aircraft. Grab the companion IJN shades from the full AK Real Colors range.
