The quiet, essential underside grey for WWII US Army Air Force aircraft. Neutral Grey 43 went on the lower surfaces beneath all that Olive Drab — the colour that gives an early-war Mustang, Warhawk or Fortress its correct pale belly. Not a colour that shouts, but get it wrong and the whole model looks off.
Best for
Lower surfaces of WWII USAAF aircraft
The pale underside beneath Olive Drab uppers
Early-war US aircraft schemes
Thin it and fade the centre of each panel for that sun-worn look undersides always pick up — subtle, but it sells the scale.
The right belly grey for a WWII USAAF build. Pair it with your Olive Drab from the AK Real Colors range.
