The pale underside blue of RAF desert warbirds. RAF Azure Blue was the lower-surface colour in the RAF Desert Scheme, worn from late 1941 into 1944–45, and it also turned up beneath aircraft flying with RAF South-East Asia Command. If you're doing a Desert Air Force Spitfire, Hurricane or Kittyhawk, this is the colour under the wings.
Best for
Lower surfaces of the RAF Desert Scheme, 1941–45
RAF SEAC aircraft undersides
Desert Air Force fighters and bombers
Thinned and faded through the panel centres, it gives that washed-out desert underside look without any effort at all.
The right underside for a desert RAF scheme. Pair it with Middle Stone and Dark Earth from the AK Real Colors range.
