One half of the iconic RAF WWII camouflage. RAF Dark Earth was a standard RAF camouflage colour from 1938 to the end of the Second World War, applied to the upper surfaces of aircraft in both the Temperate Land Scheme and the Desert Scheme. Paired with Dark Green or Middle Stone, it's the brown that defines the look of the Battle of Britain and the Western Desert.
Best for
Upper surfaces of WWII RAF aircraft, 1938–45
Temperate Land Scheme (with Dark Green)
Desert Scheme (with Middle Stone)
Spray soft-edged bands freehand over Dark Green and you've that unmistakable RAF disruptive pattern — no masking, just a steady hand and thinned paint.
The brown at the heart of RAF WWII camo. Pair it with Dark Green and Middle Stone from the AK Real Colors range.
