The unmistakable deep blue of RAF photo-reconnaissance aircraft. RAF PRU Blue was the overall colour of high-flying recon and met machines from 1941 to 1951, and served on the undersides of high-altitude day fighters too. If you're building a PR Spitfire or Mosquito, this rich blue is the whole scheme in a bottle.
Best for
RAF photo-reconnaissance aircraft, 1941–51
Undersides of high-flying day fighters
PR Spitfire and Mosquito builds
As an overall colour it rewards careful fading — modulate the panels and it reads like a real high-altitude airframe rather than a flat blue model.
The signature blue of the PR flyers. Build the finish out from the AK Real Colors range.
