The red-brown of German primers and warship hulls. Rot (Rotbraun) RAL 8013 was a primer colour used by the German Army in WWII, and the Kriegsmarine painted the underwater portions of ship hulls with it. If you build German armour or model the below-the-waterline sections of a Kriegsmarine vessel, this is the authentic oxide-red.
Best for
German Army primer effects
Kriegsmarine underwater hull sections
Oxide-red bases and chipping
On a ship's lower hull it's the perfect base for algae streaking and waterline grime; on armour it's a cracking chipping colour.
The authentic German hull-and-primer red. Pair it with the German range in the AK Real Colors range.
