The deep blue of the mid-war US Navy. Sea Blue was one of the colours in the graded camouflage scheme worn by US Navy and Marine Corps carrier aircraft from January 1943 into 1944 — the darkest tone in the tri-colour scheme that graced Hellcats, Avengers and Dauntlesses at the height of the Pacific carrier war.

US Navy and USMC carrier aircraft, 1943–44
The dark tone of the tri-colour scheme
Hellcat, Avenger and Dauntless upper surfaces
Graded down into the mid-blue and grey of the scheme, it gives that beautiful soft transition along the fuselage — pure Pacific carrier deck.
